Haxch Moto proudly announces its latest custom build: the XZR900 Thunderbolt, a radical reimagining of the 2022 Yamaha XSR900 that draws its soul from the adrenaline-fueled race machines of the 1990s
Introducing the XZR 900 Thunderbolt
The heart of this build lies in its form as well as its function. The XZR900 Thunderbolt features a bespoke, hand-formed full aluminium fairing & tank meticulously designed & shaped in house, using traditional metalworking techniques. The hand formed bodywork not only channels the spirit of 90’s race machines but sets a new benchmark for craftsmanship in the modern custom scene.
It wouldn’t be a Haxch Moto build without a unique livery, this one is finshed in a wild 90s-inspired paint scheme designed specific for this build, inspired by Yamaha’s past creations.

With weight significantly reduced over stock, the Thunderbolt is engineered for performance and precision. The geometry has been tweaked with 40mm lift on the rear through a billet linkage decreasing the rake & trail, Maxton Suspension front and rear delivers track-ready control, while lightweight Dymag wheels slash unsprung mass. Stopping power comes courtesy of HEL Performance & the engine has been remapped & dyno’d by Seton tuning, unlocking the full potential of Yamaha’s torquey triple, offering a raw and responsive riding experience.
This build is more than a one-off—it’s a platform. Haxch Moto is now offering this configuration as a limited-production custom, with each bike built to order and tailored to the owner’s desired specifications. Future Thunderbolt’s will be made in carbon fiber with moulds taken from the original aluminium panels shown here. A road legal version with headlight, discreet indicators & tail tidy, is currently being developed & will be available in the coming months.
